AFNWC - Senior Acquisition Program Manager (Hanscom Air Force Base, MA)

Position Description:
IDS is currently seeking a Senior Acquisition Subject Matter Expert (SME) Program Manager to support the Nuclear Networks Division (NCN) at Hanscom AFB, MA. The individual plays a key role in supporting the Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal Increment 2 Block 2 (GASNTi2B2) Program Management Office by providing expert program management for acquisition strategies, execution oversight, and collaboration with Air Force leadership. This position requires a Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as a key program manager and lead for the GASNTi2B2 program, setting the tone for future work and ensuring successful program execution.
  • Support Air Force acquisition processes, ensuring program milestones and deliverables align with guidelines.
  • Coordinate with Odyssey Task Lead, Air Force personnel, and other program stakeholders to maintain prioritization and collaborative workflows and support collaborative efforts within the program office.
  • Utilize knowledge of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (DoDI 5000.02) and AFI 63-101/20-101 to formulate effective acquisition and sustainment strategies.
  • Analyze schedules and cost baselines and recommend viable solutions to problems or alternative courses of action.
  • Develop and deliver quality acquisition documentation, including briefings, reports, plans, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., DAES, MAR).
  • Plan, research, analyze, and evaluate the development, production, deployment, and sustainment of weapons systems.
  • Demonstrate understanding of different funding types, budgets, and the Central Asset Management (CAM) process.
  • Support program management reviews (PMRs), statutory acquisition reports, senior-level meetings, and schedule alignment across the program, ensuring program updates and critical performance metrics are clearly communicated.
  • Communicate program objectives and solutions effectively in both oral and written formats.
  • Establish workflows for GASNTi2B2 and set expectations for future program efforts.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in critical program reviews.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in acquisition and program management within DoD environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in systems acquisition principles, policies, and program management outlined in DoDI 5000.02.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Strong skills for communicating both orally and in writing, including presentations and documentation.
  • Familiarity with acquisition sustainment reporting such as Defense Acquisition Executive Summary (DAES), Monthly Activity Report (MAR), and other required regulatory documentation.
  • Proven ability to plan and analyze acquisition systems to meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Ability to support the development of acquisition briefings, strategies, and tasks for senior management.

Education and Work Experience:

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in science, business management, engineering, computer science, mathematics, economics or other related discipline.
  • A Master’s degree in a related science or engineering field (e.g., systems engineering, software engineering) is highly preferred.

Physical & Mental Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift/carry at least 15 lbs
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time
  • Must consistently work and type on a computer and may be required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office supplies, etc.

Security Clearance:

  • Applicants selected for employment will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet additional eligibility requirements for access to classified information or materials.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.

Travel:

  • Some travel may be required.

Hours:

  • Normal work schedule hours may vary, Monday through Friday. May be required to work additional hours and/or weekends, as needed, to meet deadlines or to fulfill travel obligations.

Salary Range:

  • $100,000 - $140,000 per year

  • The estimated salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job posting and may be modified in the future. The disclosed salary range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. When determining an applicant’s compensation, various factors are taken into consideration including, but not limited to: geographic location, relevant prior work experience, relevant training, special skills/competencies, education, clearance, licenses/certifications, labor categories/contract rates and other business needs.


IDS offers a robust benefits package including employer paid health, dental, vision, disability, AD&D and life insurance plans for eligible employees.
